Women’s Day 2019 is around the corner and we are so so so proud to see how lavishly it’s being celebrated in the Barcelona tech and startup community. Join hundreds of women at networking events, discussions, parties, meetups, coding bootcamps and job fairs to talk about some of the most pressing matters of our society – like closing the tech gender gap – and rejoice in the success of women who are leading the way. Hack Your Career – Female in Tech | AB Testing Masterclass (Part 1)

Ironhack knows very well that it’s fundamentally important to empower women to pursue careers in tech. To do their part, they have invited some of Barcelona’s female tech leaders to this event so you can learn about how companies in Barcelona find and attract female talent. Take part in a masterclass about AB testing (no prior knowledge required!) lead by Myrto, Senior Data Scientist at King, and connect with like-minded professionals and kick-ass women!


Open House – How She Got There: The Journey of Women in Tech

To honor Women’s Day, AllWomen will open you the doors of their office for an inspirational and learning session of the trending topics in tech: UX design, Artificial Intelligence and Product Management. Maria A Polo Guardia from Ubeqo , Paz Perez from Surex Direct and AI expert Celsa Diaz will share their career paths and how they have achieved to be leaders in their fields. 3 different backgrounds, stories and expertise that are worth listening to. This event is a great chance to learn from their personal and professional stories and picture yourself as a next women in tech!


Code and Poetry – How Can Thinking with Code Affect Creativity?

Creative coding Barcelona invites you to a session with a special guest to talk about applying code in art. Rosi Grillmair is an artist, programmer and researcher from Linz/Austria. She is currently researching the impact of code on culture and works in various networks of creative coding and community-driven software like Processing and vvvv. Let’s find out how code changed language, logic and thinking since the 20th century and how thinking with code became ingrained in culture!

SheStartup: Women in Tech & Startups in Barcelona

An initiative by BStartup Banc Sabadell and AllWomen, SheStartup is here to celebrate the women working at Barcelona’s tech startups and to promote the incorporation of more women at local tech companies. It’s a networking event, a job fair and a party at the same time. You will have the opportunity to meet inspiring experts from Wallapop, Holaluz, Badi, Red Points, Signaturit, Adsmurai, Cooltra and Glovo, who will be sharing some of their “tech and/or digital secrets” in a format of short masterclasses. BStartup Banc Sabadell and AllWomen have created this women-friendly meeting point in order to close the gender gap in the tech sector by sharing open positions and talent needs from top startups. Let’s exchange ideas, insights and create a diverse entrepreneurial ecosystem all together!


Future-proof Jobs: New Relevant Careers in the Age of Digitalization

But what do they exactly mean and which to choose to be a relevant professional in the future? What type of background and personality traits do you need to become, for example, a UX Designer or Web Developer? This is a great occasion to bring any type of doubts you have and discuss them all together in a group, and a fantastic opportunity for women to learn more about professions that they may not have considered before.

Women’s Coding Day

Le Wagon and OneRagtime have teamed up to organize a free one-day beginner coding workshop and discussion day to break down the barriers of tech, share the chance to code with everyone and build a community of women passionate about technology. This event is for women who’d like to try coding for the first time and discuss tech in a no-pressure environment. Learn to code your own profile page from scratch, meet potential mentors and get to know like-minded women in Barcelona!
